Here’s How to get the Remote Tune-Up:
- Go to Star West Remote Tune-up Page (if you aren’t already here).
- Click Buy Now next to the Tune-up you select.
- Complete the check-out process
- A technician will contact you shortly thereafter to schedule your remote service.
The Technician will direct you to do the following:
- Go to Download Star West Remote Tune-up Software page.
- Click “Download Remote Support”
- Click “Run“, or “Allow“, or “Accept“ when prompted to download and install the remote access software.
- Read and accept the disclaimer.
- Type in your Name or Business Name and the Email Address that you used when you placed your order online and click Submit
- Your computer is now ready to receive the remote connection. Leave your computer unused until we have finished your tune-up.

Tune-ups are offered Monday through Friday during our regular business hours. Please don’t use your computer during the scheduled remote time. The technician may log in
several times to check the progress of malware/virus scans, updates, etc. When finished your technician will leave you a message on the screen as to the status and the results of the
tune-up. Check email to see if there are any instructions or further work that may need to be done. It often takes at least 2 sessions of work to complete the tune-up.
Here’s what we do:
- Remove temp files and internet history
- Remove un-used software, adware, and ALL tool-bars. (if you really want a tool-bar you’ll need to reinstall it after the tune-up)
- Install or update Malware cleaning software and run a scan and clean.
- Install or update the antivirus software an run a scan.
- We make sure your drivers are up to date.
- Run security updates on Microsoft Windows, Java, and Adobe software.
- Leave a note on your screen to let you know we are finished and your computer is ready to roll!
